Lady Susan Or The Captive Heart, A Jane Austen Bodice Ripper – http://www.theater2020.com

I have exciting news for Jane Austen fans! Some of you may remember the wildly successful production Northanger Abbey, A Romantic Gothic Comedy presented by Theater Ten Ten on the Upper East Side of Manhattan a few years ago. I would like to invite Austen enthusiasts everywhere to celebrate her talents and inspiration once again. Theater 2020 “Visions for a New Millennium (the same group of professional artists, now based in Brooklyn Heights!) will present a semi-staged reading of my latest Austen adaptation Lady Susan or The Captive Heart, A Jane Austen Bodice Ripper on Thursday, October 4th 2012 at 7:00pm.

St. Charles Borromeo Church in Brooklyn Heights has kindly donated its gorgeous space for this reading on October 4th, the same week we celebrate JASNA’s 2012 AGM being held right here in Brooklyn Heights on October 5 – 7. The church is located on a beautiful street, mere blocks from the Marriot Hotel in Downtown Brooklyn!
Admission to Lady Susan is by donation of any amount to Theater 2020, Inc. (suggested $25.oo) which will be used towards a future full production of the play. Your donation is tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law, and can be made in advance by credit card via PayPal at www.theater2020.com, or by cash or check with ID, at the door the evening of the performance. Even if you cannot come in person, please join us in spirit by making a tax deductible donation to Theater 2020 to help see this play make it to a full production!
So please come to enjoy and support a reading and a future production of my hilarious (if I do say so myself) adaptation of Jane’s novella of letters which is also inspired by English theater styles of the Georgian era and performed by an amazing and talented cast of professional Actors. And please join us for a reception with the actors and the playwright directly after the performance.
Many thanks to you all and see you in beautiful Brooklyn Heights!
Lynn Marie Macy
